Today’s dermal fillers and injectables offer patients a simple solution for filling facial hollows, depressions, wrinkles and scars, enhancing lips and cheeks, and treating facial lines. Dermal fillers and injectables are generally divided into two broad categories: those which treat static wrinkles, and those intended to reduce or eliminate the appearance of dynamic wrinkles. Static wrinkles are lines which occur as a result of sagging or loss of elasticity and moisture retention; dynamic wrinkles appear as a result of facial expression, such as smiling or frowning.
Restylane and Perlane are two popular dermal fillers and injectables which treat static wrinkles. Both products are derived from hyaluronic acid, a substance which occurs naturally in skin and other tissues, offering natural "plumping."
For dynamic wrinkles, Dysport is the product of choice. This extremely popular dermal injectable blocks nerve signals which trigger muscle contractions during facial expression. By blocking the nerve signals, the muscles do not contract, and frown lines, crow’s feet, and other dynamic wrinkles can’t form.
Restylane and Perlane how it works
Once injected, Restylane or Perlane integrates into the dermis and binds water. The results are immediate. It does nothing to hinder the normal metabolism and movement of nutrients and oxygen. Over time, Restylane and Perlane is gradually reabsorbed without a trace. For this reason, follow up treatments are needed to maintain your results at 6 to 12 month intervals
What is the difference between Restylane and Perlane
Restylane and Perlane are made by the same company from the same ingredients, but Perlane is formulated thicker, to be placed deeper, and potentially last a bit longer. The thickness makes it not comfortably appropriate for more superficial use. There are good reasons to use both in the right areas. One is not better than the other overall. Restylane is appropriate for superficial use.

What is Dysport?
Dysport is a recent introduction to the cosmetic industry’s line of injectable treatments, which was developed and introduced as a competitor to Botox, an injectable used to treat certain wrinkles which occur as a result of muscle movement. Like Botox, Dysport is derived from botulinum toxin, and is used to treat so-called “dynamic” wrinkles, which occur as a result of facial movement, such as frowning or squinting.Common examples of dynamic wrinkles are crow’s feet and frown lines, also called “glabellar” lines.
How long does dysport last?
Dysport typically last 3-4 months when first using. If you contiune to use Dysport regularly, then in most patients it tends to last up to 8 months.
What are the side effects of using Dysport?
Dysport is very well tolerated and side effects are minimal. In some patients, there may be slight bruising or swelling in the injection site, as well as some minor, temporary discomfort. In addition, a small number of patients may experience a headache following treatment, which can be treated with over-the-counter medications.
